How to Plan the Perfect Ribbon Ritual: A Guide to Colors and Ribbon Counts

15/02/2026

Have you already chosen your ribbon ritual hoop and can't wait for that magical moment on the dance floor? To ensure everything goes smoothly and looks breathtaking in photos, it's important to consider two key details: how many ribbons you actually need and which colors to choose.

In this guide, we'll help you customize a set perfectly tailored to your wedding.

1. How many ribbons do you need for the Wedding Ribbon Ritual?

Forget complex math; just follow this simple guide based on your guest list:

  • 🌸 Fewer than 7 bridesmaids: We recommend ordering 10–14 ribbons. In this case, give each bridesmaid two ribbons. The hoop will look fuller, and even with a smaller group, the ritual will have the right buildup and momentum.
  • Classic Wedding (7–15 ladies):

One ribbon per lady is enough. The "sweet spot" is 15 ribbons – it's the ideal number to create a dense "ribbon carousel" and keep everyone in suspense.

  • 🏰 Large Wedding (More than 15 ladies):

If you have many single friends, order 20–25 ribbons. In this case, we recommend a length of 4 meters so that everyone has enough space around you and doesn't feel crowded.

Bride's Tip:

If you give your bridesmaids two ribbons, you can coordinate each hand with a different shade (e.g., light pink in the left, dusty rose in the right). The result will look absolutely magical on video!

2. Ribbon Length: Why does it matter?

The standard length we offer at svazanolaskou.cz is 2.5 or 3 meters. Why this specific length?

  • Space to move: Your bridesmaids can stand at a comfortable distance, they won't be crowded, and the photographer has space to capture the whole scene.

  • Visual effect: Long ribbons wave beautifully during the movement. Shorter ribbons (e.g., 2 meters) often look too stiff in a large space.

3. Color Psychology: Which style to choose?

The color of the ribbons can completely change the atmosphere. Here are the 3 most popular styles:

  • Elegant Monochrome: All ribbons are one color (e.g., champagne, dusty rose, or white). It looks very unified, clean, and luxurious. Perfect for minimalist weddings.

  • Fairytale Ombré: A combination of several shades of one color (e.g., a mix of light pink, powder pink, and deep rose). This mix looks very vibrant and multidimensional in photos.

4. Material: Why Satin?

Our ribbons are made of fine, high-gloss satin. Unlike cotton or paper ribbons, satin doesn't tangle, reflects camera flashes beautifully, and can be worn as an elegant bracelet by the bridesmaids after the ritual.

5. Color Magic: Trends for 2026

Colors are not just an aesthetic choice – each carries its own story and symbolism. By choosing the right shades, you can strengthen the message of your wedding and give it unique depth. Plus, who wouldn't want to be a trendsetter?

Timeless Color Symbolism:

  • White: Purity, innocence, and new beginnings. A classic that never goes out of style.

  • Pink: Gentleness, romance, and love. From powder pink to deep raspberry, pink has many faces.

  • Blue: Loyalty, trust, and stability. Often used as "something blue" for good luck.

  • Green: Hope, growth, and nature. Perfectly complements rustic or botanical weddings.

  • Gold/Silver: Luxury, wealth, and celebration. These colors add a touch of grandeur to the ritual.

  • Purple: Originality, mystery, and spirituality. Ideal for brides who want to stand out from the crowd.

  • Red: Passion, intense love, and energy. For bold and sensual weddings.

    Wedding Color Trends for 2026

If you want to be a true trendsetter, focus on the shades that will dominate 2026. These colors bring a fresh breeze to the wedding palette:

  • Muted Earthy Tones: Imagine soft shades of terracotta, sage green, beige, and sand. These colors evoke calm, nature, and sustainability. They are a perfect match for boho and rustic weddings.

  • Digital Lavender: A soft, misty purple with a hint of grey that feels modern and dreamy. Perfect for romantic, slightly futuristic weddings.

  • Deep Emerald & Petrol: Deep, dramatic tones of green and blue-green. They bring elegance and sophistication, ideal for evening and more opulent celebrations.

  • Warm Apricot: A gentle orange-pink color that radiates joy, warmth, and optimism. Great for spring and summer weddings.

  • Texture Combinations: Not just colors, but a mix of materials will be key. Alongside satin, you'll see organza, velvet, or printed ribbons that add depth and dimension to your wedding ribbon rounds.

Svázáno Láskou Tip: Don't be afraid to experiment! Pick a primary color that defines your wedding and complement it with two or three others to make it stand out. You'll create an unforgettable palette for your ritual.
